a quick colville stay

Since Brian had to spend a week in Dallas at an AP Institute, the boys and I headed for Colville(with the help of Gramma) in search of warm sun. Well, Michael had a fever and the sun did eventually come out. Logan got lots of reading time in, and even some piano practice. And while a true volley never came to fruition, the badminton practice went swimmingly.

last day of school

CJ and Logan

Logan's school(and probably every other child's across America_ does a BBQ/Field day on the last day of school. This year, there were a few days after the BBQ due to snow make-ups, but no one cared. Michael even got in on the action... eager to start kindergarten at Island View next year. I was gracefully ladeling baked beans onto trays as a PTA volunteer. You know I looked good with my plastic gloves and apron.

Michael's preschool graduation

Mortar boards, diplomas... it's a little overkill, but the kids love it. Michael was the only one in his class who knew all the lyrics to The Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America. He was front and center(purposely placed by his teacher) so he could "lead" his classmates. If you had seen the preschool Christmas program two years ago when Michael literally stood in the back and cried softly, you would know why Miss Kelly gave Michael "an important job" this year.

Logan chose to miss his last baseball game in order to go to his brother's graduation(we gave him the choice). And Opa rallied, as always, to support Miguelito.

Seattle Mariners

We got free and discounted tickets to the Mariners, so we headed to Seattle to watch the M's beat the Minnesota Twins. Logan was fascinated with his pack of baseball cards(with the actual players he was watching);Michael was fascinated with licorice, strawberry lemonade, and binoculars.

Field trip to Orcas Island

Mrs. Wahlgren, Logan and Scott.
"Strike a pose" is interpreted by most of the boys.

Feeling the difference between ice water with and without blubber protection.

Logan's first grade class took the ferry to Friday Harbor to visit the Whale Museum. While we didn't spot whales on the ferry, we did see several seals and a dolphin. It was a gorgeous, hot day and the kids were superb. Michael Patrick got to go to work with Daddy since I was chaperoning the field trip. Fun for all!

logan's little league

Can't figure how to rearrange these pictures, so they are in reverse chronological order: running home, running to first, and at bat. Ahhh, technology.

And the Orange Tigers reign victorious! At least, that's what we like to think. No one really keeps score, which is why this game is so humane... at this age, anyway.
